Post your Mediamax ID and I might be able to help you out,
also what genre of shows are you looking for, or names of shows?

Thanks, but I don't use Media Max anymore. I closed my paid account and became a Freeloader. Now they won't let you download files of more than 10mb...and that pretty much eliminates HQ episodes. Fortunately, I saw this coming and got the good stuff out of there beforehand.
Aside from that, I'm particularly interested in Lux Radio Theater HQs.
Thanks again.

Yes I'm a freeloader as well, but I stream them and rip the stream with another program, I really do not lose much quality and they stay higher than 64kbs. although the stream does count against your Downloads. At the moment I am working on uploading some stuff to another file site so give me about a week or so an I'll let you know.
I did find the whole lux radio somewhere let me do some more research and I'll let you know.

I have been slowly uploading HQ episodes I have encoded at 256 kbps to a private divshare group: http://otr256.divshare.com I have quite a few gigs of such material but so far have only about 3 dozen shows uploaded to the site. I have made this a private group with only the moderator able to upload (as opposed to the more free-wheeling OTR World Group). If anyone here wants to join the group I'll be happy to approve your request. As time permits I'll be adding lots more to the site.

Wow. I feel like a kid in a candy store, Gary. Great idea.
Finally, higher quality OTR programming has begun to show up on the Internet.

I'm uploding 38 episodes of Sherlock Holmes - 47-48 - Stanley and Shirley to otr 256 today. The total size is almost 2 gigs so it will take awhile. I encoded these shows a few months ago and offered them on OTR-TNT via Streamload. The great thing about HQ encodes is the audio quality; the negative aspect is the large size and download time required. I would be happy to consider an HQ Distro at a later time as more items are added, if there is any interest.

If anybody is up for having a distro group for our forum please post a reply in the feedback thread under "what do you want to see on this site??" Just post your screen name, and sometime early next week I will send an email to everyone who posts more details on the subject.

Gandalf,
I was looking at the members' roster for Memory Lane and didn't see your name. There are only 26 free memberships left before this site becomes private and becomes invisible to all but Group members. Thought you might need to know this.
By restricting membership we can hopefully keep the download speed reasonable.

As some of you know, Divshare eliminated all groups late yesterday. Consequently, the otr groups Don and I set up are gone. On one hand, I am reluctant to spend more time and effort to try and upload files to yet another file sharing service after the fiascoes of Streamload/Mediamax and Divshare. On the other hand, Mediafire is now offering some nice features, including folders and easy transfer of files, that persuade me to give them a try. I have started uploading files to my Mediafire account. The link to my general collection is in my signature at the bottom of this post. I am also, once again going to try putting up a collection of HQ 256 files. This collection will be outside of the general collection. The link for the 256 OTR collection is as follows: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bea0fbcac2a85fdf12e7fe3f20cedf49f76cba76385f51d7
Not a lot there yet. I will be slowly adding files on a more or less regular basis, especially to the 256 collection; however, being gunshy after Streamload and Divshare I won't be devoting huge blocks of time to the project as I did in the past.
One nice feature offered by Mediafire is the ability for account holders to copy any public file and send a copy to your personal account.

Gary,
Great stuff that you have posted mate!
Please keep it up. It looks as though Mediafire is stable, at this stage.
Did not quite get what you meant when you said you could copy files over to your account?
Am I missing something.
Regards,

Stable? I was thinking the same thing yesterday. After spending most of 2 days uploading files, I was stunned to find them gone this morning. I guess
you have to expect problems with beta programs.
I'll start again, but slowly.
If you want to copy something from another account, just put a checkmark by it and click "Move to my account" located in the short column on the left.

David:
Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm slowly adding items to both my general collection as well as the 256 collection. Also, adding a few video files. Unfortunately, Mediafire only allows files of 100 megs or less so media files oretty much have to be in wmv format. Whenever I get enough files in that collection I'll post the link.
If you don't have a free Mediafire account I would urge you to get one. Once you have logged into your own account you can browse my account, or any other account for which you have a link, and as Don said, by checking any file you want using "Move to my account" you can have a copy of that file sent to your account. Mediafire claims that even if the original file is deleted, the copy remains. That is certainly an improvement over Mediamax.

Don,
Your story of the missing files has me worried. Hope Mediafire isn't going to prove as quirky and unreliable as MM or Divshare; I don't think I would be willing to start over from scratch again. All of my files on Mediafire are present and accounted for this morning. So far Mediafire has been working without any problems for me. Any chance your files have reappeared? I suppose if Mediafire was doing some sort of maintenance that would explain the problem. But to disappear without a trace and not return? That is worrisome to say the least.
