I'm sure nobody really cares, but I am typing this on my NEW COMPUTER! I am very excited because I finally broke down and bought an Apple. It feels very strange in some ways, but completely like a PC in most. I am still figuring out how to do things, but I like the super quick start and simple menu. This was mainly because I think it will be easier for my wife and technophobic mother (who now lives with us) to use. Thanks to everyone who responded in an earlier thread to give me advice about their experiences with Macs. Hooray! A new toy!
(edit: I finally figured out the "favorites" on the Safari Browser - guess which website we all know and love was the first one I bookmarked). _________________ MM ID: findeddie2 |

Good for you, Grimmy...
Nor am I surprised that you went the way of the fruit with your purchase. There's a theory of "convergent evolution" in biology that PC and Mac have been actively following. Me, I'm just glad that your new "toy" means you're more likely to be a frequent sight around the OTR T _________________ "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

Your typing is much crisper and neater as a result. No more annoying lines and wrinkles! _________________ MM=davesnothereman

I'm happy for you.
I didn't weigh in on the discussion of which was best (off on vacation), but I grew up with Macs and only switched to PC recently.
I find the Mac much easier to use and they come in pretty colors, to boot!
Congrats on your new purchase! _________________ .

I am finding myself totally annoyed with the close/maximize/minimize buttons being located on the upper left of the internet browser windows (as opposed to the upper right). It is annoying to scroll up or down on the right side of the window and then move the cursor all the over to the upper left buttons. Can I change this or must I go slowly mad?! _________________ MM ID: findeddie2 |

Never tried a Mac, but did have an old Apple 2 Plus at one time many many years ago.

I remember using Apple IIEs at school and we had a Mac Classic when they came out in the late 80's. The classic had an impressive 9 inch black and white screen (you had to sit really close when typing) and it had an impressive 2MB of memory. Also, (and this was the coolest part) it boasted a HUGE 40MB hard dive. We thought we would never need to upgrade with specs like those.
On a side note, I found it in the crawl space under the house last year and it still booted up just like new. _________________ MM ID: findeddie2 |
