I just received this e-mail supposedly from Chase Bank. The problem is, I don't have an account (or even a credit card) from Chase. I think it's a scam to find out one of my credit card numbers....
I'm just wondering if anyone else has received this.

| Definitely a scam Gil. No financial institution of any kind will contact you by email for account information. Your spam filter is working pretty well if you haven't received something similar before. Be aware I've got them from pay pal,eBay,visa, swiss bank account that I don't have. I suspect my Nigerian friends may be behind this. Or that guy that keeps telling me I've won millions in the London lottery and for a small cash advance he'll pick up the winnings and send them on to me. |

Brian....it reminds me of the time I read something about this guy who had written a book called "How I Achieved A Million Dollars...send me $25.00 to learn how". Someone said "Well...how did you achieve the million dollars?" He said "Now, you know". Evidently quite a few people had sent in the $25.00...well, at least enough to get him his million _________________ Gil |

I haven't seen that particular one yet, but they all sound very similar. I'm amazed that the spammers/scammers are actually able to trick enough folks to keep turning a profit. _________________ MM ID: findeddie2 |

I was just telling my friend the other day that I can't believe how dumb my bank is. It seems like I keep giving them all those numbers for my account and, sure enough, a couple days later they have forgotten eveything I've told them and here they are asking me all over again.
I am really getting tired of this! |

I use Quicken to keep track of all my checks and deposits. I also have online banking. I can use this to check my daily balance. Seems my Quicken balance and bank balance are never the same...even though I'm very meticulous in putting all my checks, ATM withdrawals, and deposits in Quicken. Sometimes my bank says I have more than Quicken...other times less...but they never seem to be equal. Really can't understand it! _________________ Gil |
